A little Rumpus Room Update – week 9.

Just as a reminder as to what we started with 9 weeks ago…

In the past couple weeks, the walls have been primed and painted ‘Stratus’ by Valspar. And on a whim at Lowes, we picked up some ceiling trim. We did think about crown molding, but this thinner trim just seemed to suite our house a bit more. And once painted and put up, it had the added plus of making our ceiling appear more level.

We also took down the old ceiling fans, and replaced them with the Fado lights from IKEA. The same light we have in the laundry room and first hallway.
So far, during our one year in this home, we haven’t had the need for the ceiling fans in the den. And we are on the hunt for a cool looking standing fan (in case the need arises). The ceiling fan that we initially were looking at was the ball by the Modern Fan Company, (the white version with light), so if someday we change our minds, those would be the ones we would go for.
There was also a huge hole in the ceiling from the old ceiling fans, so to make the Fado lamp work, we had to get these large ceiling medallions to cover the hole. But we surprised ourselves by actually liking the end result.

On an exciting note, the sliding door was delivered on Friday! Unfortunately, our original “door” guy is no longer available, but someone is coming by tomorrow to give us a quote. Crossing our fingers and hoping to be able to post some door installation photos very soon!

of which you are so capable of.
