DIY Credenza

There was a big open space begging for a credenza on the other side of our den so we made our own cheap-o version. Ikea cabinet + Hairpin legs. Since the cabinet is made of particleboard, attaching the legs to it wasn’t really an option. And attaching to the wall wasn’t an option either, we know exactly what’s behind that wall and it won’t support the weight of our glasses/liquor/cups…So we cut a piece of wood to the size of the cabinet, painted it white, and added an extra layer to the bottom. Legs attached, cabinet done.

*The Ikea Cabinet is from the Besta collection.

How thick was the wood piece? And how did you attach the wood to the bottom of the cabinet?
